SOC Student Agreements

If you’re not enrolled, but are considering enrolling in a Coastline Course and need assistance with selecting your first course, you can request an Informal Evaluation of your credits

Coastline is committed to providing our military students with an Official SOC Student Agreement upon completion of 6.0 units at Coastline. However, an Agreement can only be prepared if all necessary information has been submitted to the college.

Upon completing the action items below, the degree evaluation process automatically begins and SOC Student Agreement is prepared. Therefore, it is vital for students to submit all official transcripts, both military and college, when they first apply to Coastline and no later than the start of their first course at Coastline.

The SOC Agreement process takes approximately 3-4 weeks from the time all the actions items below have been completed. Students will be mailed their Official SOC Agreement to the current mailing address on file at the college. Students may update their mailing address at the MyCCC portal.

Completion of the four (4) action items below will automatically prompt the preparation of a SOC Student Agreement. Student may use this as a personal check list to assure completion of a SOC Agreement.

  1. I have submitted my application to Coastline.
  2. I have completed the online SOC/Degree Plan Supplemental Information Form. (if you didn’t complete at the time you applied)
  3. I have submitted my official military transcript (SMART, AARTS, Coast Guard Military Educational Transcript or DD 295) to Coastline Military Services, 11460 Warner Avenue, Fountain Valley, CA 92708. Information about obtaining your military transcripts is provided here.
  4. I am enrolled in at least one Coastline course.

Students who have attended other colleges and universities and/or have taken CLEP/DSST or other credit exams are advised to have transcripts sent to Coastline at the time they apply. College courses and credit exams will be included in the degree evaluation for a SOC Agreement only if the transcripts are received by Coastline at the time the SOC Agreement is processed and/or if the courses/credit are listed on the student’s official military transcript.

  • Official college transcripts from other colleges/universities and/or CLEP, DSST, or ECE exam reports (if applicable) should be sent to Coastline Military Services, 11460 Warner Avenue, Fountain Valley, CA 92708.
  • If a student’s college transcripts or credit exam results are received by the college prior to the preparation of their SOC Agreement, the credit will be included in the evaluation for the Student Agreement.
  • If a student’s college transcripts or credit exam results are included on the student’s military transcript, the course work will be included in the SOC evaluation.

An official SOC Agreement is prepared one time for each student. Degree progress reports may be requested after completion of 12 semester hours and once per year. Degree progress reports and copies of SOC Agreements can be requested online here.
