DEGREE OBJECTIVE - To provide an Associates in Arts Degree with a major in an area of study related to an individual’s military occupational specialty (Rating). Although primarily designed as a career and technical degree for immediate use in the workplace, the degree also provides the academic foundation for transfer to a bachelor’s degree program at a four-year institution.

Note 1: Completion of one year of high school algebra with “C” or better, or passing college elementary
algebra or higher with “C” or better, or passing the Math Placement Test.

Note 2: Any course marked with an asterisk (“*”) in either Arts & Humanities or Social Sciences will satisfy the Global/Multicultural Requirement.

Note 3: Up to 40 semester hours (sh) can be awarded for military credit from the SMART transcript. The remaining 20 sh for the degree must be actual college courses. (Bottom line: 7 college courses, 4 must be with Coastline)
