Student Responsibilities

2. Complete the Registration Form

• Recommend 1 course at a time. Courses may start at any time and last 12 weeks.  

3. Arrange for purchase of course materials from the on-line bookstore at: http://bookstore.mbsdirect.net/coastline.htm or call 1-800-325-3252. Make sure you order the Coast Guard Afloat "Courses for Cutters" versions, which does not use Internet.

For most courses you must order:

• Textbook
• Publisher’s Study Guide
• Student Handbook
• 2 accompanying CD’s (Free)
  

4. Give your registration packet to your ESO.

• Registration Form
• Tuition Assistance Authorization Form

Note:  ESO sends all registration packets to Coastline with

SOCCOAST Afloat ESO Cover Sheet. All exams/quizzes will be mailed to the ESO. ESO returns all exams/quizzes to Coastline at the end of the course.

5. Last Date to Drop:

No college transcript entry will be made and no tuition will be charged for drop request issued by the ESO or student on or prior to the 9th calendar day from the start date of the course. A "W" grade will be assigned for students who withdraw after the 9th calendar day from the start of the course. Failure to withdraw from a course may result in an "F" grade posted to the student's official college transcript.

6. To Drop a Class:

A student who has officially registered assumes full responsibility for completing each course in which she or he has registered. If a drop request is necessary, it must be submitted in writing by fax or email to Robin Boyle by FAX at (714) 241-6324 or email rboyle@coastline.edu. If TA was used and a refund is due, the appropriate refund shall be made to the student and the government in the same proportions as received.
