Obtain Tuition Assistance (TA)

  1. Soldier must have an active account in GoArmyEd to enroll in AVOTEC
    1. If no GoArmyEd account, Soldier goes to Army Education Center for assistance in acquiring an account and access to the GoArmyEd Portal.
  2. Once enrolled in the GoArmyEd Portal:
    1. If Soldier has previously used the TA Reimbursement form, Soldier will log in and do the following:
      1. Click My Virtual Education Center
        (If you don't see My Virtual Education Center, contact your Education Services Officer immediately.)
      2. Click Enroll or Drop a Course/Withdraw from a Course
      3. Click Launch Reimbursement Request
    2. If Soldier has not used the TA Reimbursement form, Soldier will log in and do the following:
      1. Click My Virtual Education Center
        (If you don't see My Virtual Education Center, contact your Education Services Officer immediately.)
      2. Click Enroll or Drop/Withdraw from a Course
      3. Click Request TA and Enroll in a Course
    3. Review account information. Click Account Information Verified
    4. Click OK
    5. Select the term for your class start date
    6. Select Class Search radio button
    7. Click Search
    8. Click the statement, Click here if you wish to take a class from a college not listed, on the Search Course Schedule screen
    9. Type SVP in the college field on the Add Request TA Reimbursement screen. (Subject code and catalog Nbr will then auto populate.)
    10. Start date -types in course Start Date and clicks Add button. Please allow at least one week from the date of submission to start your class.
    11. On the enrollment form, complete the following information found at the college's AVOTEC page:
      1. Course Title
      2. End Date
      3. Instruction Mode
    12. Complete the Registrar Contact Information
      1. Name of school: Coastline Community College
      2. POC: Angie Goetz

      4. Email: miltech@coastline.edu
      5. School Web Site: http://military.coastline.edu
    13. Fill in the Course cost
      1. Place the program cost in the Additional TA eligible Fees block. (no other blocks in the course cost area should be filled)
    14. Click Save to submit the form.
