CLASS SCHEDULE & PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

CLASS SCHEDULE :

The Cognitive and Care Givers Program is currently under development. The first course of a series of courses is being piloted in the 2nd 8-week session of the Fall 2008 semester.

CLASS REQUIREMENTS:

The Strategies for Using a PDA class requires a PDA with Windows Mobile 5 or Windows Mobile 6 and the textbook: Memory Compensation Using the Pocket PC: Making Cognitive Connections for Brain Injury Survivors (ISBN: 978-0-9816670-0-3).

As you may remember from our presentation/booth, Coastline recommends the Pharos 535+ GPS/PDA device. The 535 GPS/PDA device includes the following features:

• A battery that prevents data loss, even if the device loses its charge
• Microsoft Outlook (Calendar, Tasks, Contacts, etc.) used for scheduling, reminders, etc.
• Microsoft Office Mobile (Word, Excel, PowerPoint viewer) used to take notes, etc.
• A digital recorder used to record doctor appointments, instructions, etc.
• A media player used for audio books, music, etc.
• A built-in GPS and navigation maps for the United States and Canada
• Seamless synchronization between the PDA and a Windows-based desktop or laptop computer
