Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can I start a PDA course any time throughout the year?

No, PDA terms begin the first of every month with the exception of December and January. Please check the term dates posted at the PocketEd website.

  1. How long do I have to complete a PDA course?

PDA courses are set up to be completed within 12 weeks. Students may complete the course in a shorter amount of time.

  1. Do I get to keep the PDA?

Yes, after the completion of one PDA course, you will not be required to return the PDA. However, the course SD Card remains the property of CCC and must be returned at the time you complete the course. Failure to return the course card will result in a financial hold on your account.

  1. Are instructors assigned to PDA courses?

Yes, each course has a designated instructor who can be contacted via email.

  1. When should I contact my instructor?

You should contact your instructor when you have questions about the content of the course or a particular assignment. For technical issues please contact the Military Program at Coastline.

  1. How do I receive my grades when I've completed the course?

Grades are usually posted three weeks after the course end date. To view grades you will need to login to MyCCC and view your unofficial transcript. The unofficial transcript can be found on the CCC Military Student tab under Other Resources.

  1. Can I take more than one PDA course at the same time?

Students are authorized to register for two courses per term.

  1. Who do I contact if I need an extension to complete my course?

Please contact the PDA Liaison via email to request more time. Please include your full name, student ID#, course, and length of time needed.

  1. How do I drop my PDA course?

You are required to complete the online drop form located at the PocketEd website. Please read the drop policy before you proceed with the drop. If you have not yet completed a PDA course and are dropping your first course, you will be required to return the PDA and course card to avoid being on academic hold and financially responsible. I strongly suggest contacting the PDA Liaison before processing a drop.
